Twisted Sister Slams Australian Politician for Re-Writing 'We're Not Gonna Take It'

Twisted Sister isn’t going to take it anymore from Australian politician Clive Palmer.

Twisted Sister isn’t too happy with an Australian politician right now.

The heavy metal band has slammed Clive Palmer.  As part of a new campaign, the politician reportedly used a re-written version of the group’s classic song, ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It.’

Palmer previously served as a federal MP for Fairfax from 2013 to 2016.  Signaling his intention to ‘Make Australia Great Again,’ Palmer hopes voters will elect him for office once more.

On Twitter, guitarist Jay Jay French wrote yesterday,

Twisted Sister does not endorse Australian politician Clive Palmer, never heard of him and was never informed of Clive Palmer’s use of a re-written version of our song ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It.’  We receive no money from its use and we are investigating how we can stop it.

Singer Dee Snider added,

No we do not endorse @PalmerUtdParty!  We are contacting our legal team to address this and if that doesn’t work…I’LL BE DOWN UNDER IN THREE WEEKS TO DEAL WITH IT MYSELF!

Palmer had previously said his now-defunct Palmer United party has become the United Australia party.

A month ago, Snider reportedly implied that he would approve Palmer’s use of the song under one condition.  The politician would have to advocate legalized abortion.

Here’s the bottom line…is he pro-choice?  All choices?  If he ain’t…he ain’t down with Dee!  We’ve got the right to CHOOSE and there ain’t no way we’ll lose it!  This is our life this is our song!

Yesterday, he added,

‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ is a song about EVERYONE’S right to free choice.  We’ve got the right to choose and there ain’t no way we’ll lose it!  The FIRST LINE of the first verse!  Clive Palmer and the @PalmerUtdParty are NOT pro choice…so THIS AIN’T HIS SONG!

Snider had previously allowed Donald Trump to use the song in 2015.  He later changed his mind.
